Rembrandt Tulips by Silver Lining (#87) is a pattern I fell in love with last spring (tulips are my favorite flowers, especially in these colors). The pattern (stock model image on left) was a birthday gift from Brian & Leah Rykaczewski, my husband's sister and brother-in-law. I ordered a specialty fabric from Sugar Maple Fabrics for this pattern as well, a custom dye job that Melinda was gracious enough to create just for me. It was based on a the color tones of a picture taken of my DH and I in the tulip fields of Mount Vernon, Washington in 1996. The image on the right is a digital Proof of Concept composite. |

Greek Steps from the John Clayton International Collection
published by Heritage Stitchcraft, a company I encountered at the Cross Stitch convention we
attended while we were in London. The finished project will hang on the wall of Shawna Kelly, a dear friend I know from our time together, years ago, at Shoreline Covenant Church in Shoreline, WA. |
I have ordered a specialty fabric called "In the Clouds" for this project from Sugar Maple Fabrics, an online company that hand-dyes cross stitch fabrics. Progress as of December 2004 |
