~ Completed Cross Stitch Projects ~

Although I completed a few Christmas ornament cross stitch projects as a child and dabbled with bookmarks as I traveled through the UK in the fall of 1995, I did not pick up this hobby seriously until after my own wedding in June, 1997. One of my dear friends, Debbie Koch, gave us a beautiful framed cross stitch she made for us as a wedding gift and I found it inspiring. So, in the fall of 1997, I decided to complete a piece for Melanie & Anton Faulk's wedding as a wedding gift for them. And, as I have found with this hobby, once you start, you can’t stop; you just keep collecting patterns to do after you complete the ones you’re working on presently. The following are the completed projects that have given me joy, fits, and pride at their completion. Enjoy.

The fruits of the Spirit This is a stitched towel I just finished for my niece, Grace. It compliments the decor in her bathroom that was hand painted by her mother, Leah with vines, grapes and subtly woven in Bible verses that describe the traits of someone led by God's Spirit.

The Wedding by Lavendar & Lace (#19) was a gift to my sister-in-law, Leah Rykaczewski; a pattern of her choice. (image from Lavendar & Lace)

The Wedding had a lot of changes made to it, especially the hair colors, replacing the thread on the flower petals with irridecent beads and doing a 1 over 1 stitch on all of the skin. Looks great, but I don't think I'm EVER doing that again. Completed January 2003
